CAN protocol routing
CAN routing refers to the process of passing data packets from the sender to the receiver by selecting the appropriate path in the CAN network. It is similar to a navigation system that directs packets to the correct destination node in a complex network topology.

CAN protocol routing
Definition: CAN routing refers to the process of passing data packets from the sender to the receiver by selecting the appropriate path in the CAN network. It is similar to a navigation system that directs packets to the correct destination node in a complex network topology.
Function: By selecting the shortest path or the appropriate path, CAN routing can reduce the transmission delay of data packets in the network and improve the response speed and transmission efficiency of the network. At the same time, it can also filter packets and enhance network security.
Static routes: Static routes are manually configured by the network administrator and their routing paths are fixed. The administrator manually specifies the path from the source node to the target node according to the network topology and service requirements to provide better network transmission performance. The advantage of static routing is that it is easy to use and has reliable network performance. The disadvantage is that it is cumbersome to configure and is not suitable for large-scale networks.
Dynamic routing: Dynamic routing uses specific routing protocols (such as RIP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) to dynamically select a better path by exchanging network information. The advantage of dynamic routing is that it can automatically adapt to changes in the network topology and has strong flexibility; the disadvantage is that the routing calculation is complex and takes up additional network resources.
Routing table: Each node maintains a routing table, which records the connection relationship and path information with other nodes. The routing table is an important basis for route selection and route exchange.
Hops: The number of routers through which a packet travels from one node to another in a CAN network. A smaller number of hops indicates a shorter path for data packet transmission.
Router: In the CAN network, the router is responsible for judging the next hop path of the data packet according to the routing table information and forwarding it to the corresponding node.
Source node: The sender of the data packet, which is responsible for encapsulating and sending the data packet to the CAN network.
Target node: the receiver of the data packet, receives the data packet from the CAN network and processes it accordingly.
CAN protocol routing is widely used in various scenarios that require efficient and reliable communication, such as automotive electronics, industrial automation, shipping, medical equipment and other fields. In these areas, CAN protocol routing achieves fast and stable communication between devices by selecting the appropriate path to transfer data packets from the sender to the receiver.
